Following your intuition in your business life…

I finished a coaching course recently, and was asked "and what is next for you Laura?"

And without thinking I replied with something like this:

"In this season of my life of nurturing and growing, I am going to continue to follow my intuition."

I couldn't quite believe I'd said it. Truth be told, my background might not seem that intuitive. From school to Cambridge University, to UCL for my PGCE, to my first job/ professional singing.

But actually there's been so much more to it.

  • I nearly didn't get in to Cambridge because I missed my third A by a mark - but I intuitively waited it out and was "summer pooled" to another College at the university

  • I was told by three professional (male) conductors I'd never get any gigs if I did teaching and singing simultaneously - I followed my intuition, ignored them and lo and behold - I was able to do both.

  • I was told that starting a hypnobirthing and antenatal business was a "waste" of my Music degree - it wasn't - it was a beautiful addition to my life

  • I panicked that moving from hypnobirthing to coaching and mentoring for mums would somehow make my previous work less valid - it didn't.

  • I moved away from Power of Mum for a while as I wanted to attract more creatives to my business - and then I realised that all my clients were already "creatives"...and mums...

  • I wanted to talk about seasonal and cyclical living even though it seemed so zeitgeisty, but I felt I had something new and beautiful to offer via The Key Cards - I was right.

And that's just my working life - there are so many examples of this in my personal life too.

And so here's my revelation:

I'm not "rebellious". I'm not trying to unlearn it all. Rather, at whatever season of my life I've been in I've followed what I believe is right for right now - I've followed my intuition.

And that's how I want to show up as a coach and mentor, with this as a mission statement:

  • supporting mums to find their power

  • supporting values-led small business owners and creatives to create a sustainable, simple and flexible business in line with the current season of their life.

  • supporting you to get paid to be you

Where have you followed your intuition in your business or life? I'd love to know. Please do comment below and share with me - it would be amazing to hear your story.

With love,

Laura x
